\Today Husband and I attended the rally at the Federal Detention center at SeaTac. His sister and her kids joined us from San Juan Island. It was a grey day, with some typical Seattle drizzle, but a lot of people came to the rally by car and train (The Seattle Times’ estimate is 10,000). It was a somber and powerful rally. The unthinkable and long-lasting suffering inflicted by separating the children from the parents, which happened many times in the story of this country, weighted on all of us, as it was the awareness that changing direction will be difficult and will take a long commitment.
